The discount you may receive won’t actually be a good deal if you find that you have to replace the item faster than you would for the higher quality, higher priced good. And if poor quality goods caused you to not have what you need in the middle of a camping trip, then you’ll be paying the price of an unhappy camping experience as well.

In this case, you’ll not have the same security of a warranty as you would if you bought new, but the stores will often offer a short-term warranty period. And, you can save even more money if you bring in your own used sporting equipment as a trade in. You can even find trailer companies that sell re-built camping trailers rather than brand new models.

If these companies don’t offer the discounted camping gear that you need, consider looking for what you want on internet sites such as eBay or Craig’s list. Another resource would be the bulletin boards of camping associations or club sites. Of course, you take the risk of not knowing for certain what you are going to get, but you can get significant savings this way.
